Descriptions of Condition

New

A brand-new, unused, and undamaged item in and with the original packaging. The packaging is the same as would be (or would have been) found in a retail shop. The item may have been removed from its packaging for examination of condition and, where applicable, a short test run performed to confirm satisfactory operation.

I am not a retailer and do not have access to the wholesale market. So, when I describe the item as New, it will have been bought by me in a new condition and from a retailer. There should be no significant difference in condition between the item I am offering and that which could be bought as being new from a retailer.

Used (As New)

This item is identical in condition to the description of New, as given above. The only difference is that I will not have bought the item from a retailer but from a private seller and as being in new condition.

Any differences between this description and the item offered will be noted in the auction text.

Used (Excellent)

This item will have been bought by me from a private seller and not necessarily in new condition. The item may have been subjected to a small amount of running but, other than that, it would appear to be in perfect order. It should therefore have no damage or missing parts and should be supplied in its original box with protective inserts and any guarantee and/or instruction sheets. The box may have a small amount of scuffing as might be expected were this to be a dealer supplied, new item.

Any differences between this description and the item offered will be noted in the auction text.

Used (Good)

This item will have been bought by me in second-hand condition. It has almost certainly been run and over the years may have lost its impression of "newness" in that there may be minor scuffing or parts where the transfers have come away. The item will not have any missing parts unless the descriptive text contradicts this. It is likely that the box may not be supplied with the item or, if it is supplied, it may be in poor condition.

The text describing the item will draw attention to the condition of the item and, if present, its box and inserts. Any difference between the item and this description however, will always be noted in the text describing the item.

Any differences between this description and the item offered will be noted in the auction text.

Used (Average)

This item will have been bought by me in second-hand condition. It has almost certainly been run.

It is probable that there is some damage, or broken or missing parts. The item description will clarify this and it can be assumed that any problems with the item will only be in the areas specifically mentioned.

It is likely that the box may not be supplied with the item or, if it is supplied, it may be in poor condition. The item description will clarify this.

Any differences between this description and the item offered will be noted in the auction text.

Used (Poor)

This item will almost certainly have some considerable damage or other major problem and this will be drawn attention to in the text. The item will still be in a useable (runable) state but may not be up to the standard that some buyers may demand.

If requested I will happily supply further detail or images but it is up to potential buyers to decide whether the item is acceptable to them before bidding.

Any differences between this description and the item offered will be noted in the auction text.

Spares or Repair

This item is not, in the form in which it is being sold, considered to be suitable for running.
The item could best therefore be considered to be in For Spares or Repair condition.

The problems with the item will be drawn attention to in the text.

The item may be repairable but, as this may depend upon the skill of the purchaser, no assertion will be made as to the suitability of the item for repair. Such decision rests with the intending purchaser.

If requested I will happily supply further detail or images but it is up to potential buyers to decide whether the item is acceptable to them before bidding.
